Mildred J. Lindsey
GOREVILLE-Mildred J. Linsdsey, 87, of Goreville passed away at 10:08 AM, Monday, May 26, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Mt. Hebron Church in Goreville with Reverend Kevin McNeely and Reverend Wade Pritchett officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Goreville. Burial will be at Mt. Hebron Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Hebron Cemetery Fund; envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.
Mrs. Lindsey was born June 10, 1920 in Union County, Illinois to Harvey and Lona (Stokes) Hudgens. She married Carl Lindsey on May 22, 1946 in Osceola, Arkansas; he preceded her in death on August 8, 1987.
Survivors include her children, Jerry and Angie Lindsey of Goreville, Jimmy and Caryl Lindsey of Christopher, Jody and Kenny Swisher of Goreville and John and Lottie Lindsey of Goreville; grandchildren, Tammy and Todd Brenningmeyer, Mary and Arric Ploch; step-grandchildren, Lanette Bailey, Kenny Wayne Swisher, Jr., Rachel and Billy Thomas, Jonnah and Kyle Rix and Andy Hansman; great grandchildren, Maya and Logan Brenningmeyer, Zackary and Madison Ploch; step-great grandchildren, Gunner, Karson, Tanner, Austin, Will, Tori, Libby and Kyson; sisters, Vivian Escue of Marion, Athleen Lingle of Johnston City, Geneva Hudgens of Marion, Flodene Uhls of St. Paul, Minnesota and Ruth Nation of Marion; and brother, Carl Hudgens of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Leon Hudgens; infant brother, Douglas Hudgens; and sister, Deloras Henderson.
Mrs. Lindsey attended Mt. Hebron Church. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, tending to her chickens, bird watching and reading. She loved her family and enjoyed every minute she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her favorite scripture was the 91st Psalm and she read it daily.

Vivian Escue, 94 of Marion, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Herrin Rehab and Nursing.
Services will be Friday, May 20, 2011 starting at 9 a.m. at Blue Funeral Home in Marion; Reverend Jerry Schell and Reverend Jim Jackson will officiate. Burial will take place in Friendship Cemetery in Goreville following the service. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent C/O Blue Funeral Home, P.O. Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959.
Vivian was born on December 6, 1916 in Union County to Harvey and Lona (Stokes) Hudgens. She married Homer L. Escue in McKinney Chapel; he preceded her on April 28, 1990.
She is survived by her son, Donald L. Escue; grandchildren, Robert and Jo Ann Craig of Bay Minette, Ala., Gilbert and Brenda Craig of Marion, Kim and Larry Vaughn of Goreville, Robin and Theresa Escue of Rosiclare, Tonya and Jim Sears of Charleston, Linda and Gary Brush of Vienna, Gayla Escue of Marion, Christy Germann of Iuka, Miss., and Angie and Randy Cerney of Jonesboro; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother and thre sisters.
Vivian was preceded by her parents; husband; sons, Orville and Bob Escue; daughter, Betty Craig, one brother and three sisters.
She was a member of Friendship General Baptist Church and had recently begun attending Lone Oak Church. She was a retired switchboard operator from Elgin Mental Health Center. Vivian loved to read and grow flowers. She made quilts and crocheted. She loved all of her family and especially enjoyed cooking for them. Vivian loved and served the Lord for many years.
