She was born on April 6, 1909, in Marion, the daughter of Monroe and Mary Ellen (Hudgens) Batts. Georgia was first united in marriage to Hubert Hester on December 23, 1929, and together they shared nearly 26 years of marriage until his death on July 15, 1955. She later was united in marriage to Orval Hart on July 13, 1956, in Creal Springs, and together they shared over 29 years of marriage until his death on September 15, 1985. Earlier in her lifetime she worked for Marion Courts Motel and for Marion Memorial Hospital for many years. Later in her lifetime she did not work outside the home but kept busy seeing to the needs of her family and maintaining her home. She was a member and attended Community Chapel Church of Marion. Georgia was an avid NASCAR fan, watching most all of the races on television. She especially was a big fan of and followed closely NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon. She had a collection of many of his items, from autographed photos to almost everything with his name on it. She followed other NASCAR drivers and knew the names, rankings and history of them all. She also enjoyed watching many of the soaps on television and could tell you what happened in case you missed an episode. Another program she made sure to watch every year was the Miss America contest. She kept up with the judges' scores and would choose her favorite to win and many times more than not she was right. In her quiet times of the day she spent her time reading, especially her Bible, and working on velvet paintings. Though she had interest in many things, her family was most important in her life. She enjoyed the many times they all would gather together — and especially spending time with her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Now all those who are left behind will always cherish the many memories that were created.
