Virginia Hudgens, 84, passed away on Sept. 27, 2008. at Hospice of Dayton, Ohio.
Virginia was born Feb. 27, 1924, in West Frankfort, the daughter of Roy and Mable (Stanley) Mitchell. She married Claude Hudgens and he preceded her in death.The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008 at Fountain United Methodist Curch with Rev. Ken Burgard officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Cemetery. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.

This John Robert Hudgens was a trumpet player in bands that accompanied Las Vegas acts during the “Big Bands Era” . He was the grandfather of Vanessa Hudgens, of Disney fame.

Greg Hudgens, a former firefighter who was the father of actress Vanessa Hudgens, died Jan. 30 of cancer.
The actress, who became known for her starring role in the “High School Musical” series, announced her father’s death as she was preparing to perform as Rizzo in “Grease: Live” on Fox TV. She tweeted a statement about his death, which occurred the day before the show, as well as noting, “Tonight, I do the show in his honor.”
Hudgens revealed in August 2015 that her father had been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.

John from California here. Thank you very much for this entry. Claude is my great-grandfather so it’s very nice to access concrete information on him. I’m sure my father will appreciate the photo of him as a boy, too.
Greeting, Greg from North Hollywood here. Claude B. was my grandfather, Claude R. my uncle. Trying to figure out how we are related!
Claude also had a brother named Frank. I visited him a couple of times in the 60s when he was living in so. Cal. Maybe west valley? Didnt think he had children. You from that side or my uncle Claude’s side of the family?Claude and Virginias had 3 children but only remember the names of 2. Claudia, Bruce and maybe Robert?
