Mr. and Mrs. Floyd BARNETT of Carterville celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary with a dinner at the Holiday Inn in Marion on Oct. 23.

Marie HUDGENS and BARNETT were married Oct. 23, 1920.  He is a retired concrete finisher.

The couple has three sons, Ralph of Carterville and Frank and Allen, both of Elgin.  The also have eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  (The Southern Illinoisan, dated 21 November 1976)
